Gloria Rodríguez Vega

 

Better known as Glori, is a Puerto Rican born internal medicine, critical care and neurocritical care specialist. A Magna Cum Laude graduate from Cornell University, and later Cum Laude from Universidad Central del Caribe, SOM, she finished her IM residency at the VA Caribbean Healthcare System and afterwards completed her CCM fellowship at TMH/Brown University. She returned to her beloved Puerto Rico to direct the VACHS Surgical ICU for six years.

Later she became the director of the UDH Neurosurgical ICU, and after 4 years she moved, in 2010, to direct the Neurosurgical ICU at HIMA-San Pablo Caguas, a private hospital conglomerate in the Island, in 2014 she became chief of the Department of Critical Care Medicine.

She is actively involved in the SCCM (Society of Critical Care Medicine) (council Member),Council member FEPIMCTI (Federación Panamericana e Iberica de Medicina critica y terapia intensiva), President elect – COCECATI(consorcio centroamericano y del caribe de terapia intensiva), and past president PR Society of Critical Care Medicine.

She has been a speaker at the local, national and international level . She  is author of many original publications,  articles, and book chapters, She is also  co-editor of the recently published book “Critical Care Administration: A Clinical Guide”

She is Chief of the Department of Critical Care Medicine at HIMA-San Pablo Caguas, Puerto Rico

She lives happily with her beautiful daughter, two opinionated dogs and understanding husband.
